    Two local residents will be vying for the title of Mining City Star during the final round of competition April 7 at Fairmont Hot Springs. 11th Grade Whitehall student Dawson Lanes will be competing in the 13 to 17-year old division, while college student and 2016 WHS graduate Samara Brunet will be aiming for the title in the 18 and up category.     Over the past several weeks, local residents may have noticed the removal of a building adjacent to the Town Pump location in Whitehall. Once construction is completed, the area will be used for additional parking for the store located at 415 N. Whitehall.     A total of seven individuals and two teams were inducted into the Whitehall High School Hall of Fame at a special ceremony last Saturday. Dan Reum, Heather (Smith) Ranalli, Dr. Gayle Sacry, Shane Shaw, Frank Sholey, Dr. Keli (Mabbott) Kowk, and Kietra (Mabbott) Broders were inducted into the third class of the hall of fame.
