    The Whitehall Town Council voted unanimously Monday night to reinstate suspended member Francine Giono-Janik. Prior to the 5-0 vote, Town Attorney Ed Guza stated it is his opinion Janik is ready get back to the position and recommended she be placed back on the Council. Alderman Joe Adams made the motion that was quickly seconded and passed with no further discussion. Giono-Janik had been under suspension since November of 2016.     The Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District Board of Directors met for the first time since the new district was approved by local voters in November. At a meeting Monday night at the Borden’s Building in Downtown Whitehall, the board members selected Sue Pullman as chair. Names were also drawn for the length of the terms for the five members.     In November, schools in Cardwell and Whitehall once again stepped up to the plate for the community with the annual Veteran's Day Program.     Whitehall School officials are looking into recent reports of vandalism in the weight room. At the School Board of Trustees meeting last week, High School/Middle School Principal Hannah Nieskens reported there has been recent vandalism, thefts, and other mysterious happenings taking place in the weight room area.     The Whitehall High School wrestling team produced two great days of wrestling including a victory over rival Jefferson on their way to a third-place finish out of 16 teams at the annual Whitehall Duals event.     The Whitehall High School boys basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with two lopsided wins at last week's Tip Off Tournament in Manhattan. The Trojans opened up the two-day tournament last Friday with a 65-30 victory over Ennis and picked up a 66-50 victory Saturday over Conrad.     The Whitehall High School girls basketball team bounced back from their first loss of the season with a hard fought 52-49 victory over Conrad Saturday at the Manhattan Tip Off Tournament.     Trailing by ten at half Tuesday night against Big Timber, the Whitehall High School boys basketball team, sparked by an incredible game from junior Max Feight, rallied to take a five point lead with under a minute to play in regulation.
