Chamber recognizes member anniversaries

Nearly 100 individuals, businesses, and organizations make up the membership of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce. This year, The Chamber Board determined that member retention was more important than ever and moved to create a program that would focus on recognizing their members in an effort to demonstrate their appreciation.

Discussion regarding a Member Recognition program began in March, and development has ensued. The program outlines that Chamber Members are celebrated on anniversary years of their commitment to The Chamber. On the fifth year of membership members earn the Entrepreneur designation, at ten years they are deemed Principal Members, at 15 years they are considered Cornerstone Members, 20 year members are labeled Trustees, and long standing members that reach 25 years of involvement are credited as Visionaries. Membership records are available to 2006, marking the start of the program and tracking of total participation years.

Additionally, The Chamber will award three individual designations. An individual will be selected as the Volunteer of the Year. This person is anyone that has continually volunteered his/her time and energy to The Chamber throughout the year. A second individual is chosen as a Chamber Champion, a member who exemplifies The Chamber’s mission “to bring individuals, businesses, and organizations together to enrich our community”. And lastly, another member will receive the Business of the Year award.

This business will have demonstrated exceptional growth in sales or volume, created new jobs, or has contributed positively to the community of Whitehall.

Nominations for individual recognition were accepted at the November General Meeting and voted upon at the following Board Meeting. All individuals and businesses being recognized at the December General Meeting will receive an invitation via mail to attend the gathering.
