Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

James Richard Rennie

James Richard Rennie (Dick) died peacefully in the comfort of his home on the first day of spring of 2017 surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years and children.

Dick was known by many through his chosen career of law enforcement. Dick started his career as a night policeman in White Sulfur springs , worked briefly for the FBI and eventually ended up back in Montana as a Montana Highway Patrolman. He faithfully served the citizens of Montana for 25 years. Dick was respected for his spirit of the law approach to law enforcement in which he truly protected and served. Many selfless deeds are only known to the people he helped throughout his career and outside law enforcement. He never sought recognition for his actions and even to this day his immediate family knows only a fraction of his selfless deeds. When Dick was asked why people had a great respect for him he had a few simple answers; " I treat people the way I would want to be treated in the same situation and "There are no bad people only people who make wrong choices".
