A trip of a lifetime! Kyra Armstrong's school, Montana Wilderness School of the Bible, scheduled a tour of Israel. She joined the 30 other folks and after flying into Tel Aviv, spent the following week in the land where Jesus lived. Problems kept them from Bethlehem, but two days in Jerusalem will not be forgotten. Kyra said without hesitation that her favorite place was the Garden of Gethsemane. The group spent time there reading their Bibles, praying and meditating on the Scripture. She said it was very moving for each of them. Since returning home, Kyra has settled in to work on the ranch with her family.

Andy and Aimee Heimberg are enjoying an extended visit from a cousin of Andy's from Switzerland. Nadja is from the German section of Switzerland. (A good geography lesson for me.) Thinking she was with Jenny Weilenga at church, she was automatically included in a dinner invitation - which she accepted. What a delightful afternoon for all of us. Between our mispronunciations and her not quite understanding our slang, we all had lots of laughs. Nadja will be a few more weeks and then will be joining some cousins from Switzerland for an extended tour of the Western United States.

Carol Tichenor, a guest at the Whitehall Pinochle Club, had 1,000 aces during the afternoon and has chosen to become a regular. With Kathy Clark already taking the place of one of the gals that had to 'retire', Carol fills the other vacancy. Aileen Shaw and Erv Hedegaard were the other guests. Lucile Buchanan placed High; Erv, 2nd; Gladys Ballard, Low and Mary Gustin Pinochle. Florence Weyer was hostess for the afternoon and Martha Hanson is next.

Results from the Science Fair have been announced. In the 7th & 8th grades, Avrey Coombe placed 1st; Wyatt Biggers. Second and Annie Engler, Third. The 5th and 6th grade winners were first, Levi Whitehurst; second, Blake Ritz and third Ellis Mastel.

The students had a Mother's Day Brunch - "Muffins for Mom". If you are on facebook, I heard that you can see photos and also a video of the kids singing. Kyla Simon played her guitar for them. Up-coming happenings include trips to Bear Creek South of Ennis; the annual Declamation Day, this Friday at 10:00 a.m.; and 8th grade graduation next Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cardwell Gym.

A bridal shower in honor of Cassidi Shaw was held last Friday evening at the Cardwell Church. Several ladies hosted the event and provided quite a buffet of food. Part of the gift opening was the infamous 'honeymoon suitcase' from Lisa Mehlhoff. This is no small suitcase and how Lisa finds so many crazy items to fill it, who knows! On each 'gift' there is a note to explain what it can be used for, etc. It was an evening filled with blessings. Cassidi will become the bride of Lane Brush on June 3, 2017 and will live in Manhattan while Lane continues his education at MSU. Even before there was a father and mother, God told Adam "Therefore a man should leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife and they shall become one flesh." Genesis 2:24

Condolences go to the families of Aila West and Raecille Dawson. Beautiful ladies that blessed many lives.
