Judge Berger announces candidacy for Montana Fifth Judicial District

Judge Luke Berger formally launched his candidacy to retain his position as district court judge in Montana's Fifth Judicial District this week by filing the necessary paperwork with the Montana Commissioner of Political Practices.

In January of 2017, Berger was appointed by the Governor and confirmed unanimously by the Montana Senate to fill the remaining two years of Judge Loren Tucker's term.

He will stand for election on November 6, 2018.

"It is an honor to work in each courthouse in service to the Fifth Judicial District," Berger stated. "I look forward to continuing to expand access to the court in Beaverhead, Jefferson, and Madison counties and continuing to strengthen the DUI Accountability Court in our communities."

Judge Berger, a Dillon native, is a graduate of Beaverhead County High School, Carroll College, and the University of Montana School of Law.

Prior to serving Beaverhead, Jefferson, and Madison counties on the bench, Berger clerked for Montana Supreme Court and worked as a prosecutor for the City of Helena and Lewis and Clark County.

He and his wife Alexis Sandru, a Twin Bridges native, live near Silver Star with their two young sons.
