Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

EDITORIAL: Group represents Whitehall well

Last week, 2017 Whitehall High School graduates Colton Noyes, Braden Larsen, and Andrew Simon all traveled to Billings to compete in the annual Class B All-Star Football game.

This week, three Whitehall residents will be making the trip to Tennessee for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo. Jacy Johnson, Garris Robertson, and Brynna Wolfe all qualified by finishing in the top four in at least one event at the state finals in Townsend.

The Ledger would like to personally recognize the six for their tremendous accomplishments.

There was a wealth of talent in Class B football, and for these three to be selected is quite the feet. The talent they displayed on the field this past season-helped lead Whitehall to one of their best football seasons in school history. As good as they were on the field, the also display a great deal of character off the field. They were everything you would want a Trojan to be. They along with the rest of the senior class will be missed at the school and sporting events.

It’s not often that people get to compete in national events, so what these three rodeo participants have done is pretty astonishing.

And just because it is a national competition, I wouldn’t count them out from doing very well.

Garris told me that a lot of people his age aren’t doing rodeo around Whitehall, and I think this trio can inspire a future generation of competitors, much like Colton, Braden, and Andrew did during high school.

There has been a lot of success in sports during the past year in Whitehall and the entire community is behind a great group of kids. JHS
