Madison County Fair next week

A week from today spectators and participants from across Southwest Montana will be making their way to Twin Bridges for the Madison County Fair.

The popular annual event will run from August 9 to 13 at the Madison County Fairgrounds. The theme of the 2017 event is "Living our Western Heritage".

Some of major events scheduled for Wednesday, August 9 include a 4H/FFA Market Sheep Show from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the 4H Cat show which starts at 1 p.m., the 4H Dog show scheduled for 4 p.m. and Madison County Barrel Racing that will take place at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday August 10, an Opening Flag Ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Other events include bingo from Noon to 6 p.m., a beer garden at 5 p.m., a Greased Hog Scramble at 5:45 p.m. and a rodeo at 6 p.m.

On Friday, August 11, a Stick Horse rodeo will take place at 2 p.m., a Police Dog Demonstration will take place at 3 p.m., and the Double Vision Magic Show is scheduled for 5 p.m. The EWE Lamb Scramble is set for 6 p.m., the NRA Rodeo will take place at 7 p.m., a Family Dance is slated from 8 to 11 p.m., and Exit 53 will entertain the crowds at 9 p.m.

Saturday, August 12 is another busy day with Team Roping and a Horseshoe Tournament at 9 a.m., the Madison/Jefferson 4-H BBQ at Noon, the All Girl's Stock Saddle Bronc Riding Contest and NRA Rodeo at 7 p.m. and a Youth Dance from 9:30 p.m. to Midnight.

The final day will include the "Living our Western Heritage" parade at 11 a.m.
