Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

WHY Whitehall?

Bill Lanes

WHY Whitehall?

Dina and I love the small community and it's a great place to raise our children, we are especially grateful to serve in an outstanding church. Also, location and climate are well balanced. Some say this valley is a "banana belt", well no bananas are grown here but weather is all round good.

How did you end up in Whitehall?

I was born and raised in Anaconda, my folks came here in the late 80's. After serving in ministry in Baker and Libby both ends of the state we landed here.

How long have you lived here?

Primarily 17 years.

What is something unique about you?

I like to work on cars and spend the summer a bit as "Crash the Clown" doing entertainment at area demolition derby's.

What do you appreciate most about the community?

Quality and friendly people, small town life rocks!

If you could give one bit of advice, what would it be?

Honor Jesus Christ because every day we have is a gift.

Where is your favorite place to be in Whitehall?

I don't necessarily have a favorite place...I'm just like that. I'm eclectic in this sense, no favorite colors, cars, people, restaurants, etc. Although we did some hiking and fishing in the South Boulder this summer...that was amazing! Please don't ask about the fishing hole, it's a secret!

How would your friends describe you?

Unsure, you might get a variety of responses.

Who would play you in a movie?

I like father roles...maybe Jonathon Kent (Kevin Costner) who played Superman's father on earth? I don't need to be the main character, supporting roles are always needed.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Marriage and family, other than serving Christ. Thankful to have a faithful wife and wonderful kids to be pour our lives into.

What keeps you in Whitehall?

Commitment in ministry. Consistency and faithfulness is a character attribute I hope to model.
