iStation Man Congratulates Outstanding Local Students

At the November 8th Trojan Rally, Whitehall Schools' Superintendent John Sullivan dons the cape of "iStation Man" to help celebrate the success of the K-5 Whitehall Trojans.

iStation is a new tool in the school district's arsenal of instructional materials, and so far teachers are saying great things about the reading program.

iStation is an evidence-based, adaptive reading program designed for students in grades K-8, and the district decided on a full district license for all students K-8. Mrs. Behrens says, "Because iStation is adaptive, it targets individual students' needs which allows them to turn their weaknesses into strengths. I've already seen significant growth in my students who use the program!" Remedial reading students in grades K-8 have mandatory iStation time, and many K-5 classroom teachers are choosing to use iStation to augment their reading instruction for all students.

The iStation program at Whitehall Schools is currently administered by school librarian Holly Harper, and the next item on her iStation rollout process is inviting families of Trojan students to use iStation at home. Parents who opt-in to home iStation access will be able to view their students' progress, get their students into the program for home use, and have real-time information about their students' skills. The purchase of iStation was funded in part by the 21st Century grant, which is in its third year in Whitehall.

Stay tuned for information coming home with more information about iStation!
