Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Editorial: Play, upcoming events great way to support youth

This week will be the culmination of countless hours of hard work by Whitehall High School students with the Thursday and Friday night performances of the annual spring play.

The performances of “See How They Run” by Philip King are scheduled for April 26 and 27 in the Multi Purpose Room at 7 p.m.

The local schools have all been very busy as the school year comes to a close, and this is an opportunity to get out and support the kids and show them support for all their hard work. Due to other activities, the kids in the play will often times come in early in the morning or late at night, and their hard work does not go unnoticed. Year in and year out, the local department does an amazing job entertaining the community.

High School theater director Cheri Shaw said the play has offered a challenge for not only the cast and crew, but also herself. The department always does a tremendous job, and it will be exciting to see them perform a challenging play.

The cost is $5 and activity passes will be honored. There is no charge for senior citizens. Ice cream will be served during intermission.

Next week, local residents will also get a chance for a great time with the annual BY’s 4-H rodeo. The popular annual event is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds and offers those in attendance a great chance to see some of the best youth rodeo participants in Southwest Montana. You can read more about the rodeo on page one of this edition of the Whitehall Ledger.

After their last home event was cancelled, the Whitehall High School tennis team will be at home May 3 and this will be the only chance for local residents to check out a talented team at home. There are also plenty of baseball and soccer, as well as spring concerts to entertain area residents.
