Lady Trojans get a taste of home

Hosting more matches Thursday

While it may not have been ideal weather for a match, the Whitehall High School tennis team was able to finally get a little action on their home court.

One week after cancelling event due to wet conditions, the Lady Trojans hosted Granite (Philipsburg) and Lone Peak Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Britney Welker followed up an outstanding weekend at the DAWG Bite Tournament in Townsend with two victories for Whitehall. She picked up the wins Monday at number one singles.

Alicia Konold was victorious at number three singles against Lone Peak, and the number two doubles team of Madison Homer and Macee Patritti also picked up a win for the Lady Trojans.

In Townsend, Welker won three matches, the first a 7-6, 6-4 win at number one singles over Jamie Koth of Chinook. She defeated Ashley Pearson of Fairfield 3-6, 6-4, 11-9. Welker was also a 6-2, 6-2 winner at number one singles against Kwyn Colgan of Poplar.

Homer picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Joy Wolff of Wolf Point. Konold was a 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 match against Betty Bear of Poplar.

The Lady Trojans will next play Thursday at home with matches scheduled to take place at Noon.
