Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Things will be a little bit different when the annual Whitehall Farmer’s Market opens for business next Saturday, and this is a good thing for the local community.
Event organizers are transitioning into a “Street Market” in Legion Park and this should bring life back into the market that has seen a recent dip in attendance.
The “Street Market” concept still allows the traditional “Farmer’s Market” products like produce, but also opens the door for a lot more vendors that should result in better attendance.
This could include favorites like homemade goods and crafts, but will also see local artists, musical demonstrations, kids activities and vintage goods. There will be a wide variety of things to hopefully keep the entire family entertained.
Another great idea that will take place in 2018 is that businesses in downtown Whitehall will be invited to join with the market with Saturday Sidewalk Sales. This sounds like an amazing way to get people downtown and to keep them here for a while. Hopefully this can be a Saturday tradition that people will look forward to during the warmer months of the year.
The year will conclude in October with a Fall Festival Grand Finale.
This is yet another wonderful idea and another fun event for local residents.
Organizers should be applauded for trying something different with the hopes of seeing a crowded Legion Avenue area every Saturday in the summer. As with anything new, it may take some time to make this new market what they want it to be, but this is a great start.
