Jefferson County Solid Waste District is seeking a truck driver to operate a tractor-trailer with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds GVW according to established safety procedures and applicable rules and laws. This includes loading vehicles and delivering solid waste to the landfill, removing debris and operating related mechanical equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and loaders. Position may be required to unload transfer boxes and perform technical and labor duties and may work in extreme temperatures. There is a varying work schedule and position may work weekends or holidays. Position requires a commercial class A Type 2 driver’s license, however, a Class B may be considered.
