    In unofficial results from the November 5 general election, voters in the Town of Whitehall cast their ballots for three new members of the Whitehall Town Council. According to Jefferson County Election Administrator Bonnie Ramey, no candidates filed to run prior to the election for a two-year year term in Wards 1 and 2. In last Tuesday’s election in Ward 1, Pat Petersen received the highest write-in vote total with two.     The Whitehall and Cardwell Schools are hosting their annual Veterans Day program next week. The Whitehall program is scheduled for Monday, November 11 at 10 a.m. in Varsity Gym, while the Cardwell program is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the gymnasium.     The annual meeting of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce is this week. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 7 at the Borden's Building Conference room. The board of directors meeting is scheduled to follow. Chamber members will vote on the election of new officers, approving the 2020 budget, and bylaw changes.   • Cardwell Store hosting holiday food drive

    The Cardwell Store and Moose Crossing Sweets & Gifts are giving back to the local community with an ongoing food drive. The drive conducted by the store located at 770 MT HWY 2 started November 1 and will run until December 1. Those who donate at least three non-perishable items, canned vegetables and soups are needed most, will receive $.50 off a drink from Moose Crossing.     Every few months I will have a dream of a small little diner in my hometown of Rock Springs, Wyoming.     The season came to an end last week for the Whitehall High School volleyball team. The Trojans dropped two hard-fought contests at last week's 5B District Tournament in Belgrade. Whitehall fell in their opening match to Three Forks (28-26, 14-25, 18-25, 18-25), and in a five-set heartbreaker to Manhattan in the fifth set.
