The list of accomplishments for the Whitehall High School Class of 2019 is long. Not only did the class soar academically with the highest composite ACT score in school history, they also accomplished a high level of success in extracurricular activities. Born on September 19, 1928 in Philipsburg, Dean was the son of Roy and Vera (Norton) Neitz. Shawn F. McGurk, 66, of Whitehall, passed away in the early hours on April 18, 2019. He was born in North Charleroi, PA September 26. 1952, to Robert and Rita McGurk. Before his retirement he was a heavy equipment operator for Barrick Goldstrike, both in Nevada and Montana. Shawn served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Marine Corp. Whitehall High School's Katie Whitehurst wrapped up an incredible sophomore season medaling in two events at last week's Class B State Track meet in Kalispell.
