Residents driving on North Main in Whitehall may have noticed the ongoing construction at the Roper's Building. According to owner Jeffrey Hansen, they are currently working on re-stuccoing and refacing the façade of the building. Hertha Lucile Segmiller Larson was called home on Wednesday, September 28th. She was born on February 20th, 1965 in Denver, Colorado to Milton and Kyleen Segmiller. She spent most of her youth in Fairfield hunting, and packing into the Bob Marshall on horseback with her sister Kyla, brother Kyle, and parents. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1983. The Jefferson County Commissioners were recently sent an analysis from the Montana Department of Transportation in regards to the possibility of lowering the speed limit for a majority of Homestake Pass. The analysis states that for a ten-mile stretch of the pass, it is recommended the speed limit should be lowered in both east and westbound lanes from 75 to 65 miles per hour. For the second straight week, the Whitehall High School Cross Country team went head to head with larger schools from across Southwest Montana last Saturday at the Butte Invitational.
