Ballots were mailed out October 23 for the November 7 election on the question of Creation of the Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District and the election of five directors. The number of candidates for the five directors is the same as the amount who will sit on the board. They include Dana Brunet, Amy DuBois, Rico Patacini, Susan Pullman and Tara L. Tebay. After a lengthy discussion about what the role NCI Engineering has been taking in helping to address water issues, the Whitehall Town Council voted unanimously October 17 to pay an over $28,000 bill to the firm based out of Great Falls. According to Mayor Dale Davis, the town received a bill two weeks, and did not get a contract from the firm until three weeks ago. While I have been out of school quite some time, every time I visit I always admire just how hard students, staff, administrators and coaches’ work for the students. Despite some rough weather conditions, the Whitehall High School cross country team had some strong individual performances at last week's MHSA State Meet at the Bill Roberts Golf Course in Helena. If I had a permit, and a gun, and knew how to use it, I could have a bear rug in my bedroom. Two nights in a row, Mr. Bear paid me a visit and was very helpful the second night by pruning one of my apple trees. I had trouble with a bear and some others had issues with elk. Hi Folks, I didn’t make it to our regular meeting last week, but Bob and Cory only dealt with a couple of items on the agenda. They canceled the taxes on a few mobile homes that are no longer functional and where we would have no opportunity to ever collect the back taxes. They also approved Resolution 39-2017 which cancels outstanding county warrants. I won’t be able to make our meeting this week either.
