A magical season came to end Saturday for the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team in a heartbreaking 16-13 quarterfinal loss to Shelby. Area students have been busy preparing for Veteran’s Day programs scheduled in Whitehall and Cardwell. The Cardwell program will take place Thursday, November 9 at 9 a.m., while the Whitehall event will take place Friday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Varsity Gym. There was recently some great news for Jefferson Valley EMS and Rescue (JVEMS) when they were notified of a grant award from the Montana Department of Transportation. According to Grant Bureau Chief Audrey Allums, JVEMS has been awarded grant funding for three Stryker Power Cots, one Stryker Power Loader, two Stryker Rail Systems and 1 Zoll x-series Monitor. Allums said the grant award is based upon an estimated total cost for the equipment of $138,000, which MDOT has determined though their purchasing experience for the EMS Grant Program. She...

Despite the fact the volume is turned down as low as it can go, when the phone rings at the office it sounds like the town siren is going off about five feet from me. Starting November 1, Legends Bar and Grill in Whitehall will be giving back to the local community. The business located at 13 W. Legion will be implementing a community outreach program with the first recipient being the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department. The historic Boulder Hot Springs has invited local resident Michele Franich to exhibit her art from November 1, 2017 to mid-January next year. An open house reception will take place November 12 from Noon to 2 p.m. in the dining hall. Voters Tuesday approved a new ambulance district in Jefferson County. In results sent from election administrator Bonnie Ramey, the Jefferson County Rural County Ambulance District was approved by a vote of 372 to 188. The district does not include the Town limits of Whitehall. Five members were also elected Tuesday to the ambulance district board. The members are Tara L.
