Company donates time to Lewis and Clark Caverns

The pavilion at the Group Use Area at the Lewis and Clark Caverns got some sprucing up thanks to the hard work of a local business.

According to Caverns State Park Manager Rhea Armstrong, 17 employees from Imerys Talc in Three Forks volunteered a total of 37.5 combined hours scraping and painting the pavilion.

Armstrong said they will be renting the site for a company picnic, and wished to donate some time to parks in addition to the rental.

The event was arranged by company employee Jade Stokke, who used to be a tour guide at the caverns in the late 1980's.

"Partnerships between local businesses and state parks prove mutually beneficial – keeping public lands available to Montanans while making each park more financially sustainable," Armstrong said.
