Trojans headed to Washington-Grizzly

Friday night will be a special one for the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team.

The Trojans will not only be looking to improve their record to 7-1 on the season against non-conference foe Libby, they will be doing so at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula.

Trojans Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Dan Lacey said he was looking at all of the Class B Montana High School Association match ups, and saw the only team that was not playing during Whitehall’s bye week was Libby.

“So I contacted Libby’s AD and we were able to set up a neutral site game at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, which will be an awesome experience for the kids,” he said.

Lacey was able to play at the 25,217 seat University of Montana stadium during his high school career, and said it is an experience that will last a long time for his team.

“I’m excited that our cheerleaders will be able to come and cheer at the game as well. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said.

The game will be played on a FieldTurf surface, and Lacey is excited to see how the Trojans offensive weapons adjust to the field.

“Cuts and getting in an out of breaks is so much easier on the turf, so getting separation at the top end of a route is a lot easier,” he said. “I’m looking forward to watching the kids enjoy the experience and I hope they soak up every minute of it and make it a fun and lasting memory.”

The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.
