Local supporters of acquiring the Whitehall to Butte rail line to be used as a tourist railroad have until April 30, 1992, to develop a business plan and make a purchase offer, according to current owner Burlington Northern.

The task force, composed of Whitehall and Butte businessmen, and politicians, was formed this fall after BN said it was interested in abandoning the unused rail line and using the materials for repair on other lines.
