Ambulance district election cancelled

Local voters may have to wait a while to cast their votes to determine if there will be a new Ambulance District in Jefferson County.

An election scheduled early next year for a district proposed by members of the Jefferson Valley EMS and Rescue has been cancelled.

Jefferson County Commissioner Leonard Wortman said the County made a mistake during the process for a referendum creating the district.
