Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

For Your Information

2016 passed into history as I finished reading a book, "The Insanity of God" by Nik Ripken. An easy read, very difficult content. Followers of Jesus Christ worldwide are persecuted, imprisoned and even killed. We take so much for granted. This is a quote from one of the many people that have survived the persecution. "Don't you ever give up in freedom what we would never give up in persecution---and that is our witness to the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ." In II Peter we are told to "always be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us."

Kyra (and Klancy, I imagine) Armstrong hosted a New Year's Eve party in the Armstrong Cattle Sale Barn. Thirty plus young adults spent the evening with food fun and fellowship. Kyra did the food preparations, which she is very good at. She said that she cooked way too much. Sunday, New Year's Day, she headed back to school in Augusta.

While the younger folks were at Armstrongs, the 'older' folks were guests of Pat Holman's in Waterloo. She has three floors in her lovely home, so the crowd took advantage it. Games and food kept everyone entertained until the clock let them know it was 2017.

Christmas for Jonie and Bret Martinell was celebrating in Big Fork, Montana. There was lots of snow for cross country skiing and the lights and decorations made the occasion very festive. Earlier, on an early morning trip to Bozeman, they photographed some vertical rainbows rising up from the Jefferson River. The pictures didn't really tell how beautiful they were. The sun must have been shining just right through the fog, or what ever you would call that sort of air, to get the colors like that.

Tucker Huckaba chose Silver Bow Pizza to celebrate his 9th birthday. He had cousins, aunts and uncles and Grandma Susie along with his Dad, of course, who enjoyed the pizza and watched him and his friend entertain themselves with the games to be played. Silver Bow Pizza is a kid's paradise.

It's no wonder that Bill and Rhoda Powell still lead the Cardwell Youth Group -- New Year's Eve they went to Fairmont to swim with Josh Powell's family and then made a trip to Twin Bridges to a wedding and ended up at Pat Holman's New Year's party! Their energy level is amazing!

Saturday, January 7th, at the Cardwell Church, an Open House will be held to honor Ken and Linda Glaus on their 40th wedding anniversary. Shaunda, Kyle and Kurt, their children, extend an open invitation to everyone to come and enjoy the afternoon from 2 to 5 pm. Congratulations are in order!!
