School Board renews contract

Superintendent position

The Whitehall School Board of Trustees voted Tuesday night to renew the second year of a three-year contract for Superintendent John Sullivan.

Prior to voting, Board President Michelle LaFountaine said Sullivan always works hard to improve both himself and the district, and he is also great to work with.

Sullivan said that the district and board have been doing good things and hopes they continue to do so.

The renewal of the contract at the monthly board meeting passed 4-0 with Trustees Gina Ossello, Angie Davis, Paul Shaw and LaFountaine all voting to approve the renewal.

Shaw said whenever he’s had a question, Sullivan has made it his problem to find the answer, and praised him for always getting back to him right away.

“I think we’re a good team,” Sullivan said.

During his monthly report to the board, K-5 Principal Britt McLean said the attendance at the school was 168 students. Sullivan reported the numbers at the middle school were 82, and 122 at the high school.
