Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Editorial: Mule Days packs fun for the whole family

Last week I was able to do an interview with Tara Price, one of the organizers for the upcoming Montana Mule Days event in Whitehall.

After our conversation, I was more than pleased that the event scheduled from June 9 to 11 is coming to town.

This is another great opportunity for not only local residents to both enter a variety of classes and shows, but it is also great for the economy with a numerous spectators and participants making their way to the area.

The last week in July has always been known for Frontier Days and people return to town to eat and shop local. There is also an increase in tourism during the summer months. While Montana Mule Days is certainly not a new event, it is new to Whitehall, and that is a win-win for the economy and residents.

If anyone is curious about the event, I would encourage them to visit http://www.montanamuledays.com. There is a lot of information about what will be taking place.

Even if locals don’t want to participate, there will be some great events to watch.

The Montana Mule Days will open early in the morning and go into the evening. If people are busy with yard work or go fishing during the morning or afternoon, there will be plenty to see in the evening.

Anytime an event is new to town, it is important to get out and support them with the hopes it can stick around for a long time.

Thanks to Rick and Tara Price, and the Montana Longears Association for bringing Montana Mule Days to town.
