Strong line leads the way for Trojan football team

It will all start up from on offense for the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team.

The 2017 Trojans will return a wealth of experience on the offensive line when they open the season Friday, August 25 at Shepherd.

"Our offensive line will be key to our success. We have a talented group with slot of experience. They have been working very hard and I'm excited to watch them get better each week this year," head coach Dan Lacey said.

After making it to the MHSA Class B Semifinals in 2016, offensive line players Eli Reynolds, Colby Smith, Gaten Wassberg, Dylan Smith, Dawson Hoerauf, Garrison Shaw and Kayden Howser are chomping at the bit to make a return trip to the postseason.

"We are really hungry. We are excited to get back into the swing of things," Howser said.

Reynolds, Hoerauf, Howser and Shaw all discussed the importance of playing together as a unit for multiple years.

"We've worked together a lot. The line runs a lot of zone so you have to work together as a unit," Hoerauf said.

Starting quarterback Max Feight has seen first hand how cohesive the group has become over the past six years.

"I feel really comfortable with this group. Their protection really opens up the playbook," Feight said.

Colby Smith added the younger members of the team are able to gain knowledge from the way the line works together.
