Cross Country heading to Townsend

The Whitehall High School cross country team got an early glimpse of the course they will be running at state at last week’s Capital City 7 on 7 Meet in Helena.

The Trojans had six of a over a 1,000 who competed at the meet at Bill Roberts GolfCourse.

Head Coach Kerry Sacry said he was pleased with how everyone ran on the course he described as hard with hills and twists and turns.

The top finisher for Whitehall was sophomore Madison Loomis, who finished 18th in race five with a time of 23:24.71. Macee Patritti had a time of 25:10.96 in race six, and Asha Noyes had a time of 27:13.93 in race seven.

The top finisher for the boys was Dawson Powers, who had a time of 19:49.68 in race five.

“Dawson had a great race. He really runs hard,” Sacry said.

Kenzie Hugulet had a time of 25:15.46 in race six, and Dalton Denny had a time of 27:39.99 in race seven.

Whitehall will next compete Saturday, October 14 in Townsend. The state meet is October 21.
