Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Editorial: Job well done theater, WHS

Every child deserves something nice for Christmas, and a combined effort of the Star Theater and the Whitehall High School will help to ensure this happens locally.

The theater is offering free admission to “Walking Out” from November 17 to 19 to anyone who brings in a sealed toy as part of a Toys For Tots Charity Drive. The high school drama performance of “Over of the River and Through the Woods” will take place November 20 and 21, and all proceeds from the $5 admission price will be donated to Toys for Tots.

A simple gesture of brining in a toy or attending a play can go along ways to make Christmas a little bit brighter for someone in need. The price of a toy or ticket for a great film and great play will be more than worth it because it will bring a huge smile to many children. One toy can make a huge difference.

This says a lot about not only Anderson for once again stepping up to the plate to help out the community, but also about the high school becoming involved with the event. With their performance, they will not only be able to entertain local residents, they will be doing so much more. It’s teaching them at an early age they can make a difference and make life better for someone who needs it.

The movie and play will both be quality entertainment that would be worth a view even without the charity drive – the fact there a fundraiser is taking place is even more reason to get to the theater.
