Whitehall teams fall to Big Timber

Trailing by ten at half Tuesday night against Big Timber, the Whitehall High School boys basketball team, sparked by an incredible game from junior Max Feight, rallied to take a five point lead with under a minute to play in regulation. Unfortunately, a late Herders rally sent the game to overtime where the Trojans would eventually fall by a final score of 71-67.

In one of the best individual performances in school history, Feight put the team on his back in the second half with a career high 45 points.

Whitehall came out of the gates strong and took a 15-11 lead at the end of the first period, but was outscored 24-10 in the second quarter by Big Timber. The Trojans outscored the Herders by six in the third period and would take as big as a five-point lead (60-55) late in the fourth before five consecutive Big Timber points to end regulation.

Wyatt Alexander was also in double figures for the Trojans with 15 points. Sawyer Keener, Braden Smith, and Ryan Murphy each had two points. Cade Briggs added one point.

The Whitehall High School girls basketball team was unable to erase a 15-point halftime deficit in their 53-34 loss Tuesday against the Lady Herders.

Sophomore Asha Noyes had 15 points to lead the way for the Lady Trojans. Dorothy Mastel had eight, and Macee Patritti and Allee Scafani each added three points. Kendra Klapan had two points for Whitehall.

Big Timber was led by a game high 17 points from Sydney Prather.

Both Trojan teams will have a long break before their next game January 4 at Manhattan.
