Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

King headed to Whitehall

A rising country music star will play two dates in Jefferson County later this year.

John King is scheduled to play in Whitehall August 16 and in Boulder August 17.

According to Jefferson County Event Coordinator Bruce Binkowski, he recently received an email from King asking if there was any interest in a local booking. After doing his homework on King, Binkowski was pleased with what he found.

"We discovered not only did he play venues across the country, he also had a single that received significant airplay nationally called 'Tonight, Tonight'. He also co-wrote a hit single by Randy Houser called 'We Went' which won him an ASCP Songwriter award in 2016," Binkowski said. "We then checked out some of his work and we received rave reviews. So the decision was made to try and get him to Jefferson County and we were successful."

Events organizers are excited to have a country music singer and songwriter who does a lot of work in Nashville, and an entertainer considered a rising star in the business making a visit Jefferson County.

"Southwest Montana is a hotbed of country music and to have him play in both Whitehall and Boulder is something special. I think country music fans of all ages will enjoy this concert," Binkowski said.

In the upcoming weeks, Binkowski said they will be firming up venue locations, and where tickets will be available. In the meantime, he encouraged those interested in getting on a mailing list to be notified about tickets to send him an email at bbinkowski@jeffersoncounty-mt.gov, or to call him at 225-4039.

Binkowski added they have already began soliciting sponsors and they are off to a great start.

"We also have a tremendous amount of community support in Whitehall and Boulder and we are hopeful that we can make Jefferson County a regular stop for talented music acts to perform," he said.
