There were many strong individual performances for the Whitehall High School track team at last week's 5B District Meet in Belgrade.

"I thought overall we did well at districts. We qualified a lot of athletes that will be moving onto the divisional meet," head coach Dan Lacey said.

As a team, the Trojans finished fifth with 80 points, two behind fourth-place Boulder. Manhattan won the team title with 124 points.

Lacey said junior Cade Briggs had a great day winning the long jump, placing second in the javelin, and finishing fifth in the triple jump.

Feight once again broke his own school record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.67, and he also qualified for state in the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.85 seconds.

Senior Braden Smith placed first in the triple jump, fifth in the javelin, second in the 4x100 and fifth in the 4x400. Senior Wyatt Alexander placed sixth in the 100, fourth in the 200, sixth in the shot put and second in the 4x100 relay. Senior Dawson Hoerauf also placed third in shot and sixth in discus.

On the girls side, Lacey said sophomore Asha Noyes had a great day placing third in triple jump, second in long jump, and fourth in the 4x100 relay.

Lacey said Alexys Mercer and Stephanie Strong both placed in the shot put and discus. Mercer placed second in the shot and fifth in the discus. Strong placed sixth in shot and second in discus.

Lacey said Madison Loomis and Katie Whitehurst also had a great day sprinting. Loomis placed fifth in both the 100 and 200 and fourth in the 4x1 relay. Whitehurst placed fifth in the 400 and fourth in the 4x1 relay.

Whitehall will next compete Thursday at the Divisional Meet in Laurel.

"Divisional next week will really show where are athletes are in the Class B ranks. Most of the top sprinters and jumpers are in the southern division so that will be excited to watch our athletes go out and compete for a shot at the state meet. Our throwers have some great opportunities to qualify for the state meet as well. It should be a great atmosphere in Laurel with a lot of the states best competitors," Lacey said.
