3 graduate in Cardwell

It was a special night last Wednesday at Cardwell School for Avery Coombe, Judith Engler, and Westin Scheller who were all honored as eighth-grade graduates.

In his Valedictorian speech, Coombe said there many been many memories made at the school, adding although the building is 100 years old, the school still has lots of lives to influence. Coombe said there are no popular groups at the Cardwell School, instead everyone is friends and this is a place that will always be close to their hearts.

Jim Buterbaugh, who is employed in a maintenance position at the school and is a former member of the United States Coast Guard, also gave a special speech to the students. Buterbaugh said he felt honored to be asked to speak, and enjoys the sense of community the school provides. He hopes the students will carry them lessons they learned in Cardwell onto Whitehall High School and the future looks bright for the kids.
