Event organizers had many positives things to say about last month's Whitehall Frontier Days.
Chamber Treasurer Jill Dove reported there were around 240 in attendance at the organizations July 28 barbecue, an increase from prior years. Dove added there was also increased attendance at the rodeo. Chamber Board Member Kristi Wilson said she saw a lot of new faces at this year's event, and said there were also a lot of people in town for the Class of 1998 reunion.
Chamber President Jan Thorne said there were over 200 who attended the July 27 Shakespeare in the Park event. Although there were less food vendors than in previous celebrations, several chamber members reported being happy with the amount and quality of the vendors. Chamber Executive Director Ann Lawrence said there has already been 37 vendors sign up for the 2019 event.
While pleased with the event, several members expressed concern over the lack of volunteers. Thorne said it is hard to get volunteers for even one little portion of the two-day event.
