Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
There has been some beautiful recent additions to put on display at the new Whitehall Town Hall building. Earlier this summer, art from local residents was placed on the wall at the facility located at 207 E. Legion Ave.
Mayor Mary Janacaro Hensleigh said during her first term as Mayor she had art displayed at the old town hall building, and was recently approached by local resident Maxine Samuelson about doing this again.
Hensleigh had already been hanging her own personal art on the walls, and met with Michele Franich and Michelle Tebay who help organize the biannual Jefferson Valley Fine Arts Show to discuss showcasing local artists.
Hensleigh is delighted with the quality of the work and said there are over 60 local residents who take part in the local art shows.
There is currently artwork on display from local artists Carilyn Jenkin, Tebay, Jean Fastenow and Kathleen Davis. The work will be changed every two months to showcase other Jefferson Valley artists.
Hensleigh said it is amazing how good of artist there are in the area, the artwork has been a great addition, and many have said it is a really good idea.
