Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

JVCF grant cycle in full swing, 2017 grantee tour last week

The fall grant cycle for the Jefferson Valley Community Foundation is now in full swing. Grant applications are due from area non-profits by September 30, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.; they may be mailed or dropped off at the Corner Store. Any non-profit needing a grant application may pick one up at the Corner Store.

The JVCF Board visited the grant sites of the 2017 grantees on Thursday Sept 6; making quick stops to see how grant monies were spent at Greater Whitehall Area Love Inc. which had a new locking file cabinet, laptop, and software, P.U.L.S.E/JVEMS where we saw Rescue Annie a training dummy, Whitehall Community Library who proudly displayed 4 new laptops for adult use only, Whitehall Community Pool which sported a new shade structure, Whitehall Community Center where a kitchen hood vent will be installed along with gas and electrical wiring for the new kitchen, and the Jefferson Valley Museum was sporting new siding and repaired cupolas. The board will visit Reed's Rescue and Whitehall Public Transportation at a later date when access is easier. The JVCF board was exceeding pleased to find out how well the grant money was used.

All local non-profits are invited to the annual Short and Sweet Ice Cream Social grant award event at 7 p.m. on October 11 at the Borden's Conference Room. Even if the organization is not applying for a 2018 fall grant, a $1,000 Mystery Grant will be awarded to one of the non-profit attendees. Please call Millie at 406-560-8119 with the number of people coming from your organization so we have enough supplies on hand for the event.
