Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Music Days at the Park July 28

The sounds of music will be coming to Lewis & Clark Caverns this summer.

The Montana State Park will be hosting their annual Music Days at the Park with the first event scheduled for Sunday, July 28 at 11 a.m.

According to AmeriCorps Member Tamara Beal, for the past six years local musicians have shown off their authentic Montana talent at the event and invited local residents to come and take part in this tradition at the park with a rich variety of genres.

Whitehall resident Donna Weldon helps to organize the Music Days and also performs.

Weldon said there are some really good musicians lined up for 2019 and she is hoping this will encourage people to attend.

The July 28 event will kick off with a gospel singalong at 11 a.m. followed by contemporary artist Mandy Ault at Noon. Weldon is excited to have Ault and said she has a really nice voice.

Rockabilly artist Monty Montgomery will perform at 1 p.m.

Weldon encouraged those who really like the guitar to come and check out Montgomery.

"I've never heard anybody play the guitar quite like him," she said.

Terry Murphy and Weldon will follow with classic country at 2 p.m. Weldon said said she really enjoys being able to put together being outdoors and playing music.

Other performances include Rick Wine at 3, Jan and Friends at 4, Deena Westfall at 5, and a jam session at 6 p.m.

The second Music Days at the Park will take place Saturday, August 24.
