Between the Stacks

So many fun things going on this week and next, I almost don't know where to start! Thursday, Sept. 17 is Sweet Tea Tales at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to submit their favorite "Fall Fun Feast" recipe. Just remember that servings must be individual, and prizes will be awarded at the end of the tea. If you would just like to come and taste, you are more than welcome.

Saturday, Sept. 19th at 10:00 a.m. , Emily Dickerson from Lewis & Clark Caverns will be here to share tips on photographing wildlife in her program, "How to Take Photographs of Nature". She will be addressing different ways to get the best shot, find the animals people want to photograph, and how to take safety precautions in the wild.

Emily will be back on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 6:00 p.m. with "Fall Foraging" ideas on gathering food in the wild safely. There are many wonderful natural edible plants in the area, and Emily will be sharing different ideas on what to collect and recipe ideas on how to use the items collected.

Next Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at 1:00 p.m. we will be hosting a Homeschool survival meet and great for those parents who are homeschooling their children for the first time. There will be ideas on best practices, field trips, scheduling, and more from experienced home schoolers. Distance-learning parents are also invited to come and gather ideas for this very different educational year.

Science and Coding are back in the Library this week. Coding classes begin Sept. 15th at 3:30 p.m. for those 4th-8th grade. STEM camp will resume on Sept. 17th at 3:30 p.m. with Miss Robin and her mad science lab.

For younger children, ages kindergarten through 3rd grade there will be Music camp with our newest talented employee, Sara Cheuvront. There will be singing and instruments to play for everyone so come join the fun!

This week also starts Art Camp at two separate times. Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. will be for our home-educated students and 3:30 will be for our students attending the public schools in the area. All supplies are provided and everyone K-8th grade is welcome.

The calendar is packed full for the rest of the month so please pick one up at the front desk or give us a call and we can email one to you.

One last note, we have been receiving all types of new titles and DVD's. Most of them have been processed so look for them on the new book shelve. We are also putting new DVD's there so they can be easily found.
