"Spooktacular" Costume Contest at 2020 Whitehall Fall Festival

It will be fun for all ages with a "Spooktacular Costume Contest and Parade" planned at this year's Whitehall Fall Festival.

The event scheduled for Saturday, October 24 in downtown Whitehall will feature a contest for kids up to five and another for those six to 12. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded prizes from A&W, Subway, and "Screams Come True".

Event Chair Melissa Jenkins said this year's fall festival, much like other things, will look a little different in 2020, but this is a fun way to involve kids. She added area businesses have also signed up to hand out candy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The contests will feature a parade at 11 a.m. and will also encourage older residents with two additional contests. The "Scream Contest" is for 13 to 17-year-olds with the winner receiving two tickets to "Screams Come True". The "Howl at the Moon" is for 18 and up and the winner will also receive two tickets to the haunted house in Whitehall.

Those taking part just need to show up, no registration is required. Judging will start at 11:30 a.m. Costume contest and parade will be held in Legion Park.

"This will be something both fun and good for the kids," she said.
