Whitehall Fall Festival Saturday

Chamber members have been busy prepping for this Saturday's Whitehall Fall Festival. And while pleased with how things are coming together, they could also use a few more volunteers.

"This is going to be a day that should be a lot of fun for both kids and adults. We are looking forward to what we have put together for the event, but at the same time have protocols in place from the health department we must follow, and this means we could use a little help from local residents," said event chair Melissa Jenkins.

It will be a busy day in downtown Whitehall during the Fall Festival with a pie auction, vendors at the community center, costume contest and parade, and trick or treating at local businesses.

Pies can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the community center and the silent auction fundraiser for local organizations is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendors will also be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The costume contest, parade, and trick or treating are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Legion Park.

"Bring the whole family down for what should be a really fun day in Whitehall," Jenkins said.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact the chamber at 406-287-2260 or whitehallmtchamber@gmail.com, or visit their Facebook Page @WhitehallMTChamber.

COSTUME

The event scheduled for Saturday, October 24 in downtown Whitehall will feature a contest for kids up to five and another for those six to 12. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded prizes from A&W, Subway, and "Screams Come True".

The contests will feature a kids parade at 11 a.m. where kids will parade their costume along Legion and will also encourage older residents with two additional contests. The "Scream Contest" is for 13 to 17-year-olds with the winner receiving two tickets to "Screams Come True". The "Howl at the Moon" is for 18 and up and the winner will also receive two tickets to the haunted house in Whitehall.

Those taking part just need to show up, no registration is required. Judging will start at 11:30 a.m. The costume contest and parade will be held in Legion Park.

PIE AUCTION

Set for Saturday, October 24, pie makers can identify which non-profit they would like the proceeds to be given to. A food drive is also scheduled during the auction for the Whitehall Food Pantry as well as a drive of food and toys for 4 Paws and Reed's Rescue and Rehabilitation.

Those interested in baking are asked to bring their pie to the Whitehall Community Center on October 24 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and at the same time identify which non-profit the pie is being auctioned for. Bidding is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and winners will be announced after the bidding is complete. Any dessert pie is welcome but must be in a 9 to 10" pie plate/pan and must include a cover. Pastries are also welcome. Pies and pastries need to be a non-refrigerated variety.

The pie that receives the highest bid will receive $25 in Whitehall Chamber Bucks. The pie with the most bids will also receive $25 in Chamber Bucks.

For the food drive, residents are asked to bring non-perishable items and those who donate three or more will receive a free Bingo card for the Fall Festival. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

4 Paws and Reed's are mainly in need of food (none that include red-dye please) but will all accept cat dogs and toys, but no rawhide bones.
