First Allotment of COVID-19 Vaccines Hit Jefferson County

Jefferson County Health Department has received its first allotment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. We are currently receiving limited supplies of the vaccine and will follow CDC and Montana DPHHS recommendations for allocation. The vaccine will be administered through a phased process as recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

We are now in Phase 1A of our vaccination efforts, which includes healthcare workers who have direct contact with patients and long-term care facility staff and residents.

At this time, vaccine is not available to the general public or those individuals not specified in Phase 1A.

Phase 1B, which includes first responders, congregate care and correctional facilities, education and childcare workers, frontline essential workers, and adults 75 years and older, is expected to begin in mid-January through March 2021. More detail on locations, timing and priority populations will be released by Jefferson County Health Department as soon as it becomes available.

Jefferson County Public Health thanks everyone in the community for their patience and continued diligence (wearing a mask, hand washing, physical distancing, staying home when sick) as we work to distribute vaccine to our community.
