Lady Trojans Triumph Over Boulder Friday; Hand Anaconda First Loss of Season Saturday

The Lady Trojans put up two big nights of action this past weekend with home games against Jefferson High (Boulder) on Friday night and Anaconda on Saturday night. Final score on Friday against Boulder was 71-58; Saturday night 64-54, handing Anaconda their first loss of the season.

Both nights were powered by Brynna Wolfe (#24) and Jada Clarkson (#3).

"When Jada and Brynna are equally agressive in the game there is no stopping them," Coach Mecklin Davis told the Ledger. "Both games showed that."

Davis said the team has been focusing on team defense and really challenging their post players to be more physical and tough.

"Kendra Klapan, Jacy Johnson, and Maxine Hoagland have really answered that call," Davis said.

Against Anaconda Clarkson cleared 34 points, leading all scorers; Wolfe had 17, Meagan Johnson 5, Hoagland and Klapan each 4.

The Lady Trojans take on top seeded Big Timber this Friday. Davis said the team lost by 7 points in their first game against them this season, but are looking positively towards the weekend matchup.

"If we can come with the same energy and intensity as we did against Anaconda, we've got them," Davis said.

The Lady Trojans meet Big Timber on Trojan home court on Friday, January 29th at 3:30 p.m.
