The Whitehall wrestling team finished their home schedule last Friday. In the mixer with Dillon and Butte High JV, Whitehall came to compete. After 22 individual matches, Whitehall ended with a 21-1 record.
In wrestling, earning a pin shows complete domination over the opposing wrestler. All 21 of the Trojan victories came by pin.
The evening started with Ethan Wock wrestling at 182 against Dillon. He earned a pin in less than a minute. Later in the evening he also pinned a wrestler from Butte.
Harley Dunn, at 103, fell to a wrestler from Butte.
Cody Fuller, at 126, wrestled two different opponents from Butte. The first, he gained a 10 point lead, before ultimately gaining the pin. He pinned the second wrestler, also.
Wesley Biggers, at 132, followed suit with a pin over two different Dillon opponents.
Dane Hoover, at 138, was called upon three times, each time responding with dominant pins over Dillon, Butte, and a second Dillon wrestler. His efforts earned him the High Point award for the week.
Michael Reiff, at 145, was returning from injury and showed that he hasn't missed a beat. He pinned two different wrestlers from Butte.
Miles Hoerauf, at 160, continued his good season with pins over two wrestlers from Dillon.

Karson Klapan, at 170, continued the trend with pins over two wrestlers from Butte.
Leo Scafani, HWT, used his speed and skill to dominate a much heavier opponent from Dillon, before also beating a second Dillon opponent.
Overall, the large crowd enjoyed a great evening of Whitehall wrestling. The Whitehall Little Guy wrestling program also held sign-ups at the match. This program has boys and girls wrestling separately, with 6 weeks of competition. With the large turnout, the future of Whitehall wrestling looks strong.
If others would like to participate, come to the first practice on February 14, at 5 PM, at the Little Guy Wrestling room, 405 West Legion, or contact Duane Wock at 406-570-0238.
