MONTANA PARK OF THE WEEK: Logan State Park

Logan State Park was established in 1967 to support local outdoor recreation like water sports and camping. Bring your friends and family to relax and have fun at this comfortable spot for swimming, boating, camping, water-skiing, and fishing.

77518 US HWY 2, LIBBY, MT: Just off Highway 2 between Libby and Kalispell, you'll find Logan State Park, a local hotspot. With frontage on the north shore of Middle Thompson Lake, Logan is heavily forested with western larch, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine. A channel forms off the Upper lake, and it connects Middle and Lower Thompson lakes.

This state park is situated in the middle of the 3,000-acre Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park. Attractions include swimming, boating, camping, horseshoe pit, water skiing, and good fishing.

There are 37 total campsites and no tent-only sites. The RV/trailer size limit is 40 feet in length, and it closes at the beginning of October.

This is a heavily forested, scenic area, and the season of operation depends upon weather conditions and access.

Waters and showers available until September 30; Boat slips available mid-May to September 30.

Campground: Open Year-round

Park: Open 7 AM to 10 PM
