Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 5/24/2023

Summer Reading is almost here, and we are celebrating with a mystery. Readers from birth to 120 may sign up at the Library for a summer of free lunches, prizes, programs, and great books. We are going to sign up families together so those with multiples will not have to fill out forms for everyone. The program begins on June 5th and the June calendars are available at the front desk. The Great Library Treasure Mystery will run until July 27th, and anyone may sign up anytime during June or until July 27th.

We understand that many of our children have parental visitations so will be leaving for small or large time periods or parents will have children during the summer. All are welcome to sign up and if they are going out of town, keep track of the minutes read and turn sheets in upon returning to Whitehall.

On Friday, June 2nd we will be having Musical Storytime with Ron Jung. He is such a hit with our preschoolers that they have been begging for him to come back! Storytimes are at 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on June 2nd then we will switch to just 9:30 AM for the summer. Any child is welcome to come and listen to great books and do preschool crafts.

This week is the last STEM Camp and Pokemon Club for the summer. They will resume in September at their regular times. Miss Brandi is planning a summer science afternoon in June so check the calendar for dates and times.

Our book clubs will meet during their normal times and dates during the summer months.

History Book Club is the last Monday of the month, unless there is a holiday, at 6 PM. Mystery Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 5 PM. The Holocaust Book Discussion Group is off for the summer and will begin again in September.

Homeschool Roundup will meet on June 30 at 2 PM. If you are homeschooling or thinking of homeschooling this is a great way to meet parents who are experienced and willing to answer questions about all aspects of home education.

The Library will be closed for Memorial Day but open for regular hours during the rest of the week. We will also be closed for the Fourth of July. All Library closings are listed on our monthly calendar.
