  • Montana State Workshops Connecting Teachers to STEM Research Begin September 22

    Sep 14, 2022

NorthWestern Energy customers have reported more than 400 attempts by scammers to steal their money since Sept. 1. The criminals are calling from spoofed phone numbers with state area codes and local prefixes. Customers say the scammers threaten to disconnect service in 30 minutes unless an immediate payment is made. Energy companies will never threaten their customers. Accounts with past-due balances received multiple notices in advance of a service disconnection. NorthWestern Energy personnel report each phone number to authorities to shut...

The trapping course requires an in-person field day. The trapper education course consists of an online component, an in-person field day, and a written test. This general trapper e...

  • RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Bacon-Wrapped Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates

    Sep 14, 2022

There may be plenty of prepared foods in the grocer's freezer that can be served for gatherings, but the taste of easy, homemade offerings can mingle with the time-savers when guests arrive. • Creating Fiction from History: 9/14/2022

    CHARLES HADDON SHANK|Sep 14, 2022

Harriet Peregrin Smith, Hattie for short, possibly pictured here, was born to a mixed couple in Georgia. Her parents, Reginald and Darlene Smith, had been approved for a marriage license after special consideration, even though the ban against interracial marriage remained in effect at the time. One may wonder at the strings that must have been pulled. Fortunately for Hattie, the strings were pulled and thus her birth was legitimized! Hattie was possibly three-months-old when this photograph was...
