Flynn second at Harrison Invite

The first several cross country meets of the season have featured an epic battle for the top spot between Whitehall senior Hunter Flynn and Townsend's Bryant Edgerton.

The fierce competition continued last Saturday at the Harrison Invite in Pony. Edgerton was able to capture the top spot with a time of 15:54.04, but Flynn continued to close the gap between the two with an incredible second place time of 16:20.13. Nathan Gallegos of Townsend finished third at 16:32.39, and teammate Jack Dolan was fourth with a time of 16:43.02.

The Trojans finished fifth out of seven teams, beating out both Jefferson High School and Twin Bridges.

Clancy Russell placed 28th out of 59 runners with a time of 18:40.49. Justin Gipson placed 30th with a time of 19:21.76, and Ryan Murphy was 34th at 19:36.30.

Adrian Bright also competed for Whitehall and finished with a time of 26:08.18 in his first varsity race.

Ann Russell and Madison Loomis were both in the top ten for the Lady Trojans. Russell was ninth with a time of 21:44.58, and Loomis was tenth at 21:51.44.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Whitehall's Adam Williams continued his strong season and was the top Trojan middle school finisher. He finished in 12th place with a time of 14:37.75. Michael Reiff was 20th at 15:40.74, Karson Klapan was 32nd (17:11.12), Gavin Watson placed 33rd (17:12.06), and Avery Bright finished in 42nd (20:37.33).

On the girl's side, Chloe Brown finished in 27th with a time of 23:30.95.
