Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Editorial: School Districts give back to Veteran's

This week schools in both Whitehall and Cardwell will be hosting Veteran’s Day programs. The Cardwell program is scheduled for Thursday, November 10 at 1 p.m., and the Whitehall program is scheduled for Friday, November 11 at 10 a.m. in the Varsity Gym.

Veteran’s Day is such an important holiday, and it really says a lot that both school districts take time to put together a special program.

I attended the Whitehall program last year and was really impressed with the dedication by both students and staff members to honor those who have served our great Country. Teaching kids at an early age about the importance of our Veteran’s is the right the thing to do. They need to learn just how important this day is, and how important each and every Veteran is to the Country.

The programs are both open to the public, and I would like to encourage people who have not attended to come and honor Veteran’s. While the schools host it, it really is an event that is about the entire community.

Last year I recognized several Veterans’ I knew in the crowd at the program, and it was a great to feeling to see them honored for their service for the Country.

There are so many great things about the area, and honoring Veteran’s should and is on the top of the list.

Job well done schools.
