High School play next week

Whitehall High School students are just days away from their performance of "Arsenic and Old Lace".

The annual fall play at the school is scheduled for Monday, November 21 and Tuesday November 22. Both performances are slated for 7 p.m.

Drama Director Cheri Shaw said the play written in 1939 by Joseph Kesselring is a classic, and really fit with the cast she has.

Shaw said there are 20 kids including stage crew participating, and the play has very challenging roles for her senior cast members.

"They've done a stellar job," Shaw said about the student's preparation. "I always have the best kids."

Shaw also praised the drama students for either coming in for practice before school, or in the evening because of football and volleyball commitments.

The students will also be performing the first act of the play during school on November 21. Shaw said they would use the performance as a dress rehearsal.
