Editorial: Job well done with Christmas decorations

Anyone who has recently taken a drive down Legion Avenue in Whitehall will have noticed the numerous holiday decorations.

Simply put, it looks awesome!

Last Saturday, members of the BY's and Ag Cats 4-H Clubs, Whitehall Chamber of Commerce members, town employees and local residents came together to decorate the town for Christmas.

The Ledger would like to thank each and everyone who took time to participate, and a special kudos to the 4-H members that helped decorate. These kids are learning at an early age the importance of taking pride in where you live and how you take pride in it. Whitehall and the surrounding areas are lucky to have numerous 4-H groups who are extremely active in making this a great place to live.

The decorations do a great job of getting people into the Christmas spirit. It's uplifting to drive down the Main Street in town and to see that people care.

It was also a positive to see the collaboration of various different groups to get the job done. It was a holiday weekend and a lot of people were busy with shopping and their own personal decorating, but they donated their own time for the benefit of Whitehall. That says a lot about them and how they feel about this town.

As I was typing this editorial, I received a letter to the editor by email that echoed my thoughts. It seems all this hard work was very popular with local residents.

The Ledger would also like to commend the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Lights contest. This will be another great way to get into the Christmas Spirit.
